Cedar Key News:
- Earlier this month, the City of Cedar Key was named one of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places! Read our full announcement for more information from the event.

- “I knew that Cedar Key was special”, says UF’s Historic Preservation Director, Cleary Larkin, as city named one of the nation’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.
- Cedar Key, the coastal community outside of Gainesville, ravaged by hurricanes the past couple years, is on the list of most endangered historic places in US for 2025.
Florida Trust News:
- Our May 22nd Lunch & Learn: Florida’s 11 To Save with Florida Trust Vice President, Ennis Davis, is now available to watch on YouTube!
- The deadline to nominate a 2025 Florida’s 11 To Save location is June 1st! Click here to submit a location you think would be great as an 11 To Save.
- Florida Trust’s own, Alessio Luna, delivers keynote speech at the Blanchard House Museum’s Emancipation Day celebration in Punta Gorda!
Grants:
- The Division of Historical Resources application cycle for Small Matching, Abandoned African-American Cemetery, and Special Category will close on June 2, 2025 at 5pm (ET). In order to apply, visit the Department’s online grant system at dosgrants.com.
Other News:
- Crews worked through the Memorial Day holiday weekend to stabilize Coconut Grove Playhouse after partial collapse, a former 11 To Save location.
- Town of Fort White recognized as a Main Street community; one of the latest to be recognized by the state and the potential to receive financial resources.
- The Orange City Shuffleboard Complex was named one of 11 important sites in Florida worth preserving. However, city officials argue that the complex is outdated and poses safety concerns.
- Jacksonville History Center releases annual list of endangered buildings. Several being former 11 To Save locations!
- Springfield Preservation and Revitalization hosts a number of upcoming events, including tours of historic homes and gardens and baseball socials.
