- Preservation Win: Green Gables, twice listed in Florida’s 11 to Save, now belongs to Green Gables at Historic Riverview Village Inc., the nonprofit that has advocated for its preservation for over a decade. Congratulations!
- The Jacksonville Historical Society released ,Jacksonville’s Most Endangered Buildings last month, including LaVilla’s duplexes and shotgun houses on Jefferson Street. The neighborhood of LaVilla was listed in the 2022 Florida’s 11 to Save.
- The National Trust for Historic Preservation announces $3.8 million in grant funding to historic sites representing African American history, including the St. Johns County African American Heritage Trail.
- University of Miami Professor Joanna Lombard ,explains how the built environment can significantly impact our mental and physical health.
- Tallahassee ,to be considered for the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame thanks to the former Gramling’s feed store, a landmark venue that may host the Bradfordville Blues Club.
- APA Florida Chapter’s 10th Annual Great Places in Florida nominations are now open, with the theme Great Resilient Places.
- The National Alliance for Preservation Commissions is seeking proposals for educational sessions, panels and round tables from individuals contributing to the field of historic preservation (or related fields) at the local, state, and national levels to be offered at FORUM 2024: Preservation Under the Palms.
- The Tampa Bay Hotel is inviting visitors free of charge on Free Saturday, July 8!
- Registration for the first Conference on Public Archaeology is now open! September 22-23, 2023 | Pensacola.
